Morzine

Ski Area

A large village of traditional, wooden chalet style buildings and a favourite of British skiers for the best part of a century, Morzine. It is a great choice if you’re looking for a bustling, traditional French ski village with a strong, year-round community and a great range of cafes and restaurants plus an exciting après-ski scene. Add to the tick list the fact that this is one of the closest and easiest resorts to reach from either Geneva Airport or the Channel, plus that it lies at the heart of one of the world’s largest ski regions, the vast Portes du Soleil, and you can understand just why it’s so popular.

You can choose each morning which direction to head in across the huge ski area which extends via the challenging ‘Swiss Wall’ run over the border into Switzerland (easier alternative routes are available). Or to one of half-a-dozen other French villages nearby.
