Val d’Isere

Ski Area

Val d’Isère is, of course, one of the world’s best-known resorts. Not only is it a member of a very elite group of half a dozen ski areas worldwide which have hosted World Cup, World Championship and Olympic ski events, it’s also one of the planet’s top choices for a great ski holiday as it has it all – world-class ski terrain and a superb resort base.

It also has an excellent snow record with the high altitude of the village and the glacier-crowned slopes towering above making it a much better bet than most in the early and late season. Val d’Isère’s village centre is a pedestrianised hub of activity with shops, bars, restaurants and other facilities a few steps from the base of fast, efficient lifts serving twin ski sectors, both offering some of the most exciting and extensive ski terrain on earth.

The area shares more than 300kms of runs with neighbouring Tignes in the fabulous Espace Killy which also offers one of the biggest lift-served verticals you’ll find anywhere at over 2000 vertical metres.
