Courmayeur

Ski Area

Located at the foot of Mont Blanc on the sunny south side is Courmayeur, one of Italy's most charming resorts. Its fantastic skiing, spectacular scenery and top mountain restaurants makes it the perfect resort for anyone wanting to ski in Italy. The slopes are perfect for intermediates, especially at the top end of the ski area as they are mostly red runs, however, there is plenty of varied terrain to suit all abilities. For more ambitious skiers the Punta Hellbronner cable car rises from La Palud up the Mont Blanc from which you can descend the famous Vallee Blanche run to Chamonix village.

For skiers up for a challenge, the Punta Hellbronner cable car rises from La Palud up the Mont Blanc from which you can descend the famous Vallee Blanche run to Chamonix village (you will need to catch a bus back to Courmayeur). Other options for advanced skiers is the extensive off-piste skiing Courmayeur has to offer with several great runs off the top of the Cresta d’Arp lift, so make sure you grab yourself a guide and explore these areas.

Courmayeur also has some of the best heli-skiing in Europe with the option of skiing either non-glacial or glacial terrain.
