Avoriaz

Ski Area

Avoriaz is different to any other French resort - in fact, any ski resort full stop, and for the millions who love it, it’s all the better for that.
Located at a snowsure 1800m, it’s the country’s only car free resort where the streets are, quite literally, pistes. Purpose built a little over 50 years ago it is superbly well designed with all accommodation slopeside and an ever more vibrant hub of shops, restaurants and bars a short walk (or ski) from your door.

Catering for all tastes in snowsport and all types of skier or boarder, its off-slopes attractions include the wonderful and remarkable Aquariaz tropical swimming pool and spa complex (very surreal high in the French Alps), which add to its existing reputation as a safe ideal choice for families. You can also enjoy the Burton Stash all natural terrain park which has won awards as ‘best in the world’. In addition to all of this, there are 650km of piste at your doorstep stretching for miles to link other French areas as well as over the border into Switzerland.
